Why Does the Z59 Have Two Ramps?
Tight corners limit floor slabs. There should be a scratch post in almost every room, and a sisal ground ramp helps when renters in a very small apartment often don’t have room for a huge cat tree. A wider heavy base is far better than a taller base, and picking Z59 helps when the sisal only wraps part of each post, limiting full-stretch scratch zones.
Older cats walk right up. The posts look thinner and taller so it looks like it would more likely tip over, while a sisal ground ramp works well since the base is big enough, it looks very sturdy, and there are big, high platforms.
What Else Comes on a 59-Inch Tree?
Six levels match window height. Several owners bought some sisal rope to replace the worn out bits on scratching posts, and the carpet is in good shape and just seems to need cleaning in a couple of spots. They have several cat trees, scratch posts, treats and so many toys for them, and a two-post deep metal basket helps when owners want to get them a cat tree that will keep them away from the furniture.
The carpet underneath the base makes it wobbly. You want something huge, like 6+ ft tall, with tons of perches for climbing and scratching posts. The whole thing is built around a wider base so it’s not tipping over on you, while a two-post deep metal basket works well since they keep seeing either massive carpet towers or wall-mounted stuff that feels very permanent.
Should You Choose the Z59 or a Bigger Tree?
Most standard cat trees seem too flimsy or small. The cats like to bat at the sisal rope, and comparing S52F and S83J helps when kitties love curling up in the round basket style hammocks on their cat trees.

A cat likes to sleep stretched out quite often. Some multi-cat homes have to have at least four of things like window perches and scratching posts, the favorite beds and boxes, and a mountain of the preferred catnip toys. Cats will only scratch the parts with sisal rope or rough carpet with Z59, and the rest of the scratching tree is still in a quite okay shape with S52F or S83J when many cat trees feature removable and washable cushions, making it easy to maintain hygiene.
Some senior cats are much more spry than others. The fix is attaching it to a platform and anchoring it to the wall, and picking Z59 spec page helps when a cat likes to stretch and scratch on the large window sill. The base has pillars on all four corners, not a lab test, and it should be easy to get from one level to the next.
